Create or edit a tool. This is a two-tab page: General and Images & Documents.
General tab​
Owner/warehouse​
Select which warehouse or person the tool belongs to from a dropdown of all company users and warehouses.
Basic information​

| Nickname | Display name for the tool |
| Technical Name | The formal tool name |
| Marking | Text shown under the QR code. Second line available if company has two-line marking enabled. |
| Tool ID | Company-internal identifier |
| Model/Type | Model designation |
| Warehouse Location Detail | Where the tool sits within the warehouse |
| Specifications | Technical specs (watts, capacity, etc.) |
| Serial Number | Manufacturer serial number |
Loan duration (individual tools only)​
How many days the tool can be borrowed before a warning is generated.
Reminder settings​
- Frequency: once, monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, yearly, every 2 years
- Next attention date: when the next service/calibration is due
- Reminder label: what the reminder is for (e.g., "Calibration")
Purchase & warranty​
- Purchase date, vendor name
- Warranty expiry date (turns red when expired)
Notes​
Free-text notes field.

Tool choices​

Categories​
Checkboxes for each company tag/category. Link to the category editor (admin).
Images & Documents tab​
Images (max 5)​
- Stock image suggestions based on the tool name
- Current images with move/delete controls
- Upload from camera (handles HEIC/HEIF conversion)
Documents (max 5 PDFs)​
- List of attached PDFs with name and delete button
- Upload button with name prompt
Delete tool​
Red button at the bottom. Shows a confirmation dialog. Deletes all associated images and documents. For tool collections, also deletes the collection warehouse.
