GPS

The GPS module enables real-time location tracking of tools using ABAX GPS hardware. You can see where your most valuable equipment is at any time.

What it does​

GPS tracker inventory​

A dedicated GPS management page becomes available in the admin menu. From there you can:

  • View all GPS trackers in a searchable list showing provider, ID, alias, and battery status
  • See assignment status — which tool each tracker is linked to, or if it's available
  • Edit descriptions for each tracker
  • Delete unassigned trackers (assigned trackers must be unlinked from the tool first)
  • Monitor battery levels with full/half/dead battery icons

Assign trackers to tools​

In the tool editor, a GPS selector appears when this module is active. You can:

  • Assign a GPS tracker to any individual tool
  • Remove the assignment by setting it to "None"
  • Only unassigned trackers (or the currently assigned one) appear in the selector

Location display on tools​

When a tool has a GPS tracker assigned, the tool detail page shows:

  • Map button — opens the GPS location in a map view
  • Location information — geocoded address from GPS coordinates
  • Real-time data — latitude, longitude, timestamp, and speed

ABAX integration​

GPS tracking is powered by the ABAX service. The integration flow:

  1. Order integration from the GPS page — notifies the Toolbee team to set up your ABAX connection
  2. Once configured, trackers are automatically synced from the ABAX service
  3. Real-time location data flows from ABAX to your tools
  4. Purchase physical trackers via a link to the ABAX shop

Where you see it in the app​

  • Side menu → GPS Trackers (admin only, when module active)
  • GPS page (/gps) → Tracker inventory, ABAX integration
  • Tool editor → GPS tracker selector
  • Tool detail page → Map button, location info, history

How to activate​

Go to Company Settings and scroll down to Optional Modules. Toggle on GPS, then save. The GPS menu item will appear in the sidebar for administrators, and GPS assignment will become available in the tool editor.

Pricing​

The price is shown next to the toggle in Company Settings. Note that ABAX hardware and service costs are separate from the Toolbee GPS module fee.
