Stock

The Stock module extends Toolbee beyond individual tool tracking to support quantity-based inventory management for consumables, bulk materials, and shared resource pools.

What it does

New tool types

When Stock is enabled, two additional tool types become available in the tool editor alongside the standard "Individual" type:

TypeUse caseHow it works
ConsumableDisposable supplies, cables, fastenersTrack per-warehouse stock quantities. Users fill up or use stock.
PoolShared resources distributed across locationsGlobal stock distributed across all warehouses. Users transfer stock in and out.

Stock quantity fields

For consumable and pool tools, additional management fields appear:

  • Current quantity — how many units are in stock right now
  • Stock unit — the unit of measurement (pieces, boxes, bags, kg, meters, m², m³, etc.)
  • Stock precision — decimal precision (0-3 decimal places)
  • Maximum stock — optional cap on stock level
  • Low stock warning — alert threshold when stock drops below this number
  • High stock warning — alert threshold when stock exceeds this number
  • Allow taking entire stock — for consumables, whether users can take the full quantity at once

Stock actions on tool pages

The tool detail page changes based on tool type:

Consumable tools:

  • Fill up (FyllPa) — add stock
  • Use (BrukOpp) — consume stock
  • Displays current stock quantity and who holds it

Pool tools:

  • Stock In (LeggInn) — transfer stock to a warehouse
  • Stock Out (TaUt) — take stock from a warehouse
  • Warehouse selector to manage stock across locations

Stock display in warehouse views

In warehouse tool lists, stock quantities appear on the right side of each stock tool, showing current levels at a glance.

Important note

Once you have created consumable or pool tools, the Stock module cannot be disabled until those tools are removed or converted back to individual tools. This prevents accidental loss of stock data.

Where you see it in the app

  • Company Settings → Optional Modules → Stock toggle
  • Tool editor → Tool type selector (Individual / Consumable / Pool) and stock fields
  • Tool detail page → Stock actions (fill/use for consumables, in/out for pools)
  • Warehouse tool lists → Stock quantity display

How to activate

Go to Company Settings and scroll down to Optional Modules. Toggle on Stock, then save. The tool type selector and stock fields will appear in the tool editor.

Pricing

The price is shown next to the toggle in Company Settings. It is free on the Free plan.
