Tool Changes (Watching)

Lets you keep an eye on a specific tool without owning or holding it — useful for tools you care about but don't manage day to day.

How to enable​

Open the tool's Tool Details page and tap Watch (heart icon). No module is required — this is a core feature available to every user. To also receive these as email, turn on Push by Email in your Notification Preferences.

Purpose​

Keeps watchers up to date on a tool's status without needing to check it manually.

Who receives it, and when​

Sent to every user who has the tool on their watchlist, whenever one of the following happens:

  • The tool is renamed (name or nickname changes)
  • The tool moves to a different warehouse/owner
  • The tool is handed to a new holder
  • The tool is deleted
  • A stock tool's quantity drops below its low stock threshold, or rises above its high stock threshold (the owning warehouse is also notified)

Notification content​

Each notification shows what changed — e.g. the old and new name, or the previous and new holder — along with the tool's photo (if one is set) and a deep link straight to the tool.
